Find Your Groove Online Building an online business is a lot of work. Ok, I know that was a SEVERE understatement. There are a lot of pieces to the process that have to be learned and implemented. Some of the pieces are necessities like learning web design for example. Other pieces may appear necessary but perhaps optional. I will explain more exactly what I mean with this marketing example: There are many ways of getting traffic to a web site. There is SEO, PPC, article marketing, video marketing, social media participation, and forum and blog postings to name a few. One big mistake I see beginners making is trying to do ALL these methods at the same time. They do a little bit of this and a little bit of that each day or week. That is usually a losing strategy. One person is not able to cover all those areas adequately. Remember this: X amount of work focused on just one or two areas yields far more results than that same X amount of work spread across 5 or 6 areas. Here’s the problem. Beginners are aware that all those areas I listed above work. Each area has marketers who have great success with the given method. Beginners see this success and think they should be doing it all. Of course no one can do it all well. How is a beginner supposed to decide where to focus? That’s easy. Focus where there is the most positive energy. The worst thing that can happen is for a beginner to FORCE themselves to do something they don’t enjoy just because they think they should. Find those few areas you enjoy doing. If article marketing feels like a real drag for you, don’t focus there! If social media is fun for you, focus there and learn how to use it correctly. It really is just this easy. Simply follow your positive energy flow; it will never let you down. |
