Keep Going! We're not quite finished with this page... 1. Original Content is king! That means either write it yourself or pay someone to write it. Do NOT kid yourself; Google will know if an article is copied or just has a few words switched around. They will know - and it will hurt your site. Go to copyscape.com and put in any page. It will tell you if it is original or copied! Try it now - impressive right? On the same note, there are plenty of people selling complete websites! They look perfect - just a few dollars from you and they are ready to " make lots of money". Be careful - there are a few issues with buying a website, but copied content is a huge problem. The site will never rank well because Google will look at it and know it is just copied material. No matter how pretty the site is, it's worthless. Think about it - if it's such a good site, why are they willing to sell it to you? Don't Get Caught Up In Online Scams! 2. It takes time to build something of value! The Internet can be a GREAT career, however, you will not make money with your online business tomorrow or next week (unless you clean your closets out via eBay). You have to build up your knowledge and/or experience to make money with Internet marketing. You might have already been scammed by one of the many "data entry" or "rebate processor" scam. If so, I am sorry. I'll speak more about scams on Day 3. But for now, just know that there are no quick and easy ways to make money online. If a site is promising you will make "hundreds of dollars" by tomorrow or next week, it is a scam....period. The biggest mistake a beginner can make is wasting time trying to "make money" from day one. Go through the important steps of finding a unique niche that means something to you. Build a site that has value! Remember all successful sites started with that first page! Success comes with adding more content and learning the skills needed to build traffic along the way.
