Be Your Best and Shine Through Organization

If you KNOW that you’ve lost out on countless opportunities, wasted HOURS searching for important information, or simply given up on projects out of FRUSTRATION… then I am talking to you.

I have compiled a short list of easy, time-saving, money-making organizational tips!

If you are anything like me, I’ve had to LEARN to organize. Some people seem to be born with it… my dad is one of “those” people. I was not blessed with the “systematize, categorize or classify” gene at birth. I spent years - yes many many years - suffering the consequences of losing important numbers, passwords, and papers… not finishing one project before starting another… simply put being scattered and jumping from one project to another!

When I started working for myself, it became glaringly obvious how much time I was wasting! It really hit me - I was wasting my time; time I would never get back.

One thing that has really helped my wife and I with focusing and organizing has been our participation in a local Dan Kennedy Mastermind Group. Dan's insight and philosophy have been priceless to us while building our businesses. If you don't know "Dan's World" style marketing, we really suggest you check it out. We really had no background marketing and Dan's teachings have helped tremendously. Dan has a FREE newsletter offer here where you can get a taste for what he has to offer. In our opinion, it really is worth it's weight in gold!

That time you wasted was money out of my pocket!

I’ve had to develop organization skills – until lately Id spent very little time actually improving them. It always seemed like too much trouble. The progress started small… at one point my organizational system consisted of sticky notes. If something was “important”, I posted on a little note and stuck it on the wall in my office. I had hundreds of notes every where – wall, desk drawers, notebooks, calendars, etc. I felt confident it was there… Now all I had to do was FIND the right one!!!

TOTAL FRUSTRATION – I shutter to think just how many hours I spent in my lifetime just looking for lost “things”!!!

Here’s the solution!

Managing time is all about prioritizing and planning. Each day have specific goals to keep you on track with the priorities. Don’t just dream about the items important to you. There is power in writing them down… then they turn into goals! Once you have goals, reviewing and prioritizing them daily gives specific purpose to your life. When the process comes together, real change - can and does - happen!

Just be careful! Important things are not necessarily urgent; “seemingly” urgent matters can dominate your time if you let them. Be aware of what drains your time and plan for success.

Six Tips For Reaching Your Goals

1. Buy a notebook – with sections and pockets! I have 5 sections in my notebook: Mastermind Meetings, Stocks, StevesClassroom, and Goals
When I need something, I KNOW where to find it!

2. Write down your plan --- key goals especially for today, tomorrow, etc. Make a time-line to stay on track. What projects, activities, and goals should be accomplished by the end of the week?

3. Take time twice each day to visualize the goal – morning and night… see it completed. Feel the success! This will help keep motivation high and keep you moving closer to your goals.

4. Adjust the plan if necessary – stay flexible. Sometimes a clearer vision will mean that you need to tweak your plan… that’s o.k.! But make sure not to “jump ship” midway through - Focus!!

5. Prioritize other activities to ensure your plan stays in sharp focus – avoid time wasters.

6. Above all, have an attitude of gratitude! Concentrate on the positive … things you can do something about. It only takes small changes to do big things.
